Emmerdale: Debbie Dingle’s headed back and she’s in BIG trouble

What is the young mum hiding when she returns to the village?

| Updated:

Debbie Dingle is returning to Emmerdale this month and in typical Dingle fashion trouble isn’t far behind her.

It’s an explosive comeback for Deb, who left the Dales last year after discovering her boyfriend Ross Barton had tried to kill Robert Sugden.

Show executive producer Iain MacLeod has now revealed to OK! magazine:

“Just when you think you can’t catch your breath, there’s a surprise that she has for us at the end that’s kind of desperately sad, really heartbreaking and I think will trigger a massive storyline for her for the next 12-18 months.”

Ooh, what could it be?

News of Debbie’s return first hit us in December when ITV announced she’d be coming back in an explosive storyline.

“Having spent the last year in France, she is now on the run – but who is Debbie running from? And how long will it be before Cain and Charity come to her rescue?”

Actress Charley Webb, who gave birth to her second son, Bowie, with co-star Matthew Wolfenden last year, returned to filming just before Christmas.

She followed up what Iain had to say in her own interview with OK! magazine saying:

“I’m going to be full-on for the next year at least. I can’t reveal anything, but it’s going to affect the whole Dingle family.”

The Dingle clan are no strangers to trouble, so another dramatic storyline will be right up their street.

It sounds like it’s going to be a busy time for Charley, who also told the magazine she found her first day back on set a tad overwhelming.

“I did walk into my dressing room and burst into tears,” she said.

“I think it’s because the day was finally there and I’d been anxious about leaving Bowie. It’s a big life change, but I absolutely love my job and it’s been great being back.”

And we can’t wait to see her back!
