Emmerdale bad boy KIDNAPPED

And that's just the beginning of his day from hell...

| Updated:

Just as Rakesh Kotecha thought he was getting his life back on track he goes and gets himself abducted.

He’s annoyed that many people in the past few months that anyone could be the culprit. So just who has taken him hostage?

Things seem to be on the up for the crooked ex-solicitor when his estranged wife Priya Sharma agrees to give their marriage another go.

It’s pretty good of her seeing as he got them into lots of debt funding his son on the run, then burnt down The Mill, therefore sending their investment up in flames, and stole money from the factory.

But forgiven him she has and they decide to go public about their romance to make it official.

It’s not long before they’re in the Woolpack displaying their love and people aren’t happy about it.

Priya’s dad, Rishi, and brother Jai are furious she’d even consider giving Rakesh a second chance.

And now they know he started the blaze that left Nicola with life-changing injuries, Jimmy and Nicola King aren’t happy about it either.

When Rakesh then announces he’s got a job abroad and he and Priya are considering moving away, with her daughter Amba, the kid’s father David Metcalfe isn’t happy at all.

So in the space of a couple of hours, Rakesh has made enemies of at least five villagers – not to mention those who already had a grudge against him like crazy Pierce Harris.

Rakesh’s son Kirin, ran over and killed Pierce’s wife, Tess, and Pierce has blamed Rakesh for letting Kirin escape ever since.

It’s no surprise, really, then that Rakesh soon finds himself under attack. He’s hit over the head, knocked unconscious, and when he wakes up, he finds he’s been tied to a chair.

But who’s done this to him?

It’s just the beginning of the drama though, because the kidnap is nothing compared to what else Rakesh is about to face.

Talking to Digital Spy, Pasha Bocarie said:

“These scenes were very intense to film. I think fans are going to be surprised and shocked by them.

“There’s also a big stunt involved and I did part of that myself. It was one of the riskiest things I’ve ever done.”

Will Rakesh make an escape attempt? Can he get away from his captor in one piece? And will they be punished for holding him against his will?
