As tonight’s episode of EastEnders began, it was feared that Whitney was trapped under the crashed bus.
And as the rescue mission began, the big drama – we thought – was whether the Walford favourite would survive.
But there was a much bigger shock in store.
Lee Carter’s troubled missus was indeed dragged to safety and appeared to be out of danger.
While coming to terms with the terror that had unfolded, however, Whit ended up taking comfort in the arms of doting dad-in-law Mick.
She only blaaaahdy snogged him!
Yeah, we know, been there and done that. She’s tried to get off with him before. Only, this time, Mick seemed a little less resistant to her advances.
The kiss came as she talked about husband Lee Mick’s son, of course (GAH!): “All I ever do is bring bad luck to this family, I’m never going to be good enough for him.
“I just want to be a good wife. It don’t matter what I do, it’s always going to be in here, I’ve tried so hard to make it work, maybe it’s me.”
Wouldn’t you know, this private – insane – moment was witnessed by Denise Fox.
Mick tried to explain it away, but… this IS EastEnders!
He then told Whitney: “That shouldn’t have happened. I’ve never ever, like… That was surreal. You know I love L.”
She replied: “And I love Lee.”
SO wrong. But we can’t lie about feeling a little sympathetic towards/excited by the chemistry between these two…
