Former EastEnders favourite is returning to Casualty

It's an 'explosive' comeback.

| Updated:

Former EastEnders actress Pam St Clement is returning to Casualty next month.

The star played big-earringed Pat Butcher on the Walford set soap for 26 years until she was killed off in 2012.

She then went on to steal the show as moody patient Sally Hodge in Casualty’s 30th anniversary episode last year, so the producers jumped at the chance to bring her back to the ED.

Confirming the news to Inside Soap, Erika Hossington, the show’s producer said:

“Pam St Clement is returning. Her character literally causes an explosion, and that will be airing in March.”

The exact details of how the explosion happens, where it is, and who else is hurt haven’t been revealed, but will Sally survive it?

Sally was first admitted with abdominal pains in the episode screened last year and immediately took a disliking to nurse Charlie Fairhead.

Her emotional baggage made her an angry person, but has she calmed down since her last appearance?

Reports have also told how a major Casualty character is set to be sensationally killed off in March as well – could Sally’s return and the explosion she causes have anything to do with that?

Pam’s best known for her role as Pat and she briefly made a return to Albert Square last year for Peggy Mitchell’s exit.

She came back in ghost form to be with her old friend in her final hours.

Fortunately, Pam won’t be playing anyone from the beyond the grave this time around – at least, we hope not!
