EastEnders’ Ian Beale faces life-threatening health scare after pancake race collapse

There's something very serious wrong with him

| Updated:

It’s been obvious for a while EastEnders’ Ian Beale is battling an underlying health condition and it looks like it could be life-threatening.

When Ian collapses, he finally goes to the doctor to get his test results, and his actions after the visit stun everyone.

After a recent routine health check, Ian was worried when he was advised to see his GP for further tests.

But he soon puts all of that to the back of his mind to focus on something far more important – winning the Carters’ pancake day race.

Before he’s about to run, he gets a text asking him to make another doctor’s appointment to discuss his results.

However, he’s a competitive man and decides that will just have to wait until he’s beaten half of Walford in the race.

As things get underway though, he forces himself to the finish line to get there before Kim, but ends up pushing himself too hard – and collapses.

His shock black out leaves Jane reeling, and she insists he needs to go to the doctor and face up to whatever’s wrong with him.

This is looking serious now, is Ian really going to be okay?

Ian’s obviously worried too as the next day Jane catches him updating his will. Does that mean he knows the truth about his condition?

Jane tries to reassure him and tell him it’ll all be fine, but is he giving his wife the full story?

Wanting to take his mind off everything, Jane takes Ian for birthday drinks in The Vic. But will this be his last birthday?

Fans have speculated they think Ian is suffering from prostrate cancer or diabetes, given his frequent trips to the toilet and the time he fell asleep in the pub.

Could the soap’s longest serving character really be dying?
