EastEnders’ Bex Fowler devastated after Walford High prom disaster

The soap is gearing up for a dramatic end to bullying storyline

| Updated:

Could EastEnders’ Bex Fowler be mourning the death of her best friend Louise Mitchell?

Teaser pictures from the soap released on Tuesday show a distraught-looking Bex (Jasmine Armfield) being comforted by her family as she struggles to take in the aftermath of the Walford High prom.

Fans of the BBC One programme will know that Louise (Tilly Keeper) is in for a night of horror at the end-of-year party and rumours have been circulating that her character will be killed off.

A dramatic trailer showed bullies Madison and Alexandra vowing to sabotage the prom, a crowd screaming and Louise lying on the floor crying in agony, before ending on a shaken Bex sitting in hospital looking shocked.

The new pictures show Bex sitting around the kitchen table with dad Martin (James Bye) and stepmother Stacey (Lacey Turner) who look equally devastated at the events that have unfolded.

More sneak peek images show Bex in mum Sonia’s (Natalie Cassidy) kitchen as her music teacher Mr Pryce pays a visit to her.

Mr Pryce has always been on Bex’s side – and we reckon we’ve seen a spark between him and Sonia – but is he there with bad news?

Or does he just want to see how his pupil is after all that’s happened? And will Sonia be able to stop herself from venting her anger at the teacher she trusted to look out for her little girl?

The soap is keeping the outcome of the prom firmly under wraps, but with Louise nowhere to be seen in the aftermath photos and Bex looking inconsolable, viewers may be assuming the worst.

Especially as the big man, Phil Mitchell, is said to be heading home next week.

Is he returning to mourn his daughter? Or to sort out the girls who have left her fighting for her life?

Things are set to be very, very different in Walford after these terrible events, but will there be one less teen in the Square?

The EastEnders prom airs on BBC One on Thursday and Friday, with the aftermath photos taken from episodes due to air on July 24 and 25.
