Fans terrified for Bethany as Corrie release trailer for next week

Things are going to get even more disturbing for the poor lass

| Updated:

Next week’s episodes of Coronation Street are set to be the most distressing yet.

Yes, you guessed it, the Bethany storyline is to get even more dark and shocking and fans are really beginning to fear for the teenager’s well being.

As you know, for the past few months Nathan has been grooming 16-year-old Bethany, farming her out to his sleazy mate Neil for sex.

This week, the plot gets even more sinister when the cad sets her up to have sex with three more so-called friends.

In a preview of next week’s show screened on ITV, Bethany can be seen preparing herself in a mirror while her sleazy boyfriend Nathan looks on.

We also see her being taken to meet the men and hear Nathan whisper in her ear: “You are going to knock them dead.”

In another part of the preview, Shona is seen telling David Platt that Bethany is in trouble and then mum Sarah demanding to know what is going on.

Fans immediately took to social media to express their anxiety over the storyline.

One said: “This storyline is so dark. I really feel for Bethany. I hope she will be okay.”

While another said: “I can’t wait for next week’s episodes – I am hooked!”

Corrie boss Kate Oates says that although Bethany’s mum Sarah now knows something is wrong, it won’t mean Bethany’s terrible times are over. Far from it, in fact.

“What Bethany has been through is a process of brainwashing, and just because you’re pulled out of danger, doesn’t mean that the lights are suddenly on and she can see what the truth is,” she explains.

“There is a little way to go with her story still.”

But it looks like Bethany may find a guardian angel in the form of florist Mary.

“Mary and Bethany are going to form a nice friendship,” Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany, says.

“Mary has been raped before so she’s going to come in handy with Bethany when coming to terms with what happened further down the line.”

Mary, played by Patti Clare, has been paying close attention to Bethany ever since she hid away from Nathan in her flower shop.
