Coronation Street's Lucy Fallon spoke to Loose Women today about the harrowing scenes which show her character Bethany Platt being groomed by Nathan Curtis.
The 21-year-old went on to reveal that her boyfriend, Tom, and her dad both refuse to watch the dark scenes.
Panellist Stacey Solomon asked the star: "How have your family coped with watching you play out this storyline?"
Lucy revealed: "Tom finds it difficult to watch because obviously it's me.
"And my dad finds it quite difficult as well because it's his daughter acting out those things."
She added: "But my mum is amazing and so supportive.
"She will watch it."
Christine Bleakly then asked Tom about how he feels seeing his girlfriend in such a dark storyline.
Tom, who was sat in the audience, admitted: "I don't choose to watch it.
"Which is a shame because I want to be as supportive as possible.
Tom finds it difficult to watch because obviously it's me.
"I just rely on the rest of the nation to tell me the amazing job she's doing which I believe she is."
Speaking to the loose ladies Lucy, who has been on the soap for two years, confessed to feeling nervous about taking on the role.
She said: "I wanted to do it justice for survivors."
As the storyline becomes even more harrowing it has been revealed that Bethany is set up to sleep with evil Nathan's friend Neil.
It is believed that Bethany desperately tries to let Nathan know she's unhappy with the situation but he ignores her and she's left alone with Neil.
But after Bethany refuses to sleep with Neil things take a turn for the worse as the schoolgirl is subjected to a rape ordeal.
