Corrie’s Kate Ford reveals battle with secret illness

Tracy Barlow's alter ego opened up about her struggle.

Coronation Street star Kate Ford has spoken for the first time about her private battle with a devastating health condition.

The Tracy Barlow actress took to Twitter to reveal she suffers from the painful condition endometriosis.

She opened up about her struggle after US singer Halsey posted to Instagram about surgery she was having for the illness.

Kate wrote:

“I suffer from this it’s not easy” and posted a link to the article about the songstress.

Halsey revealed in her Instagram post that she was “braving [sic] multiple surgeries. The most important of which being the surgery that would hopefully treat my endometriosis”.

She went on to explain that the condition is “mentally exhausting and physically painful”, something which Kate clearly agrees with.

It’s believed this is the first time Kate has opened up about her struggle with the condition that can cause severe pain, fatigue and even infertility.

Speaking to The Sun at the time of her separation, Kate said:

“When Jon and I first parted it was quite hard to put my personal life aside.

“But then it became therapeutic to concentrate on my job…

“We really tried hard to make it work. But it came to the point when we knew we had to get a divorce…

“For a while after we split, I found it hard to get out of bed…”
