Her character’s latest storyline sees her team with with her sister, Rosie Webster, to find out who’s been making mum, Sally’s, life hell.

Sally has been stalked online for a few weeks now, but it gets even worse when her tormentor fakes a call from the hospital and lies that Sally’s cancer has returned.

The news then gets put out online and a death notice is even printed in the Weatherfield Gazette. That’s the final straw for Sophie and Rosie who vow to find out exactly who’s doing this to their mum and bring them to justice.

Brooke revealed: “Trolling online is a really relevant issue and something so many people face and they shouldn’t have to put up with it.”

As the sisters storm the Gazette’s offices to find out who placed the notice, they do discover who’s behind it all, but Brooke remained tight-lipped about their identity.

However, she did explain that Sophie’s doing exactly what she would do herself.

“One of the things I like best about Sophie is that she’s a real campaigner and she will always fight for what’s right – as will I,” she said.

And she also revealed she’s loving having on-screen sister Rosie back. Actress Helen Flanagan returned to the cobbles recently to mixed reviews, but Brooke has no time for the haters.

“I absolutely take my hat off to Helen. Take away the fact that she’s grown up on screen on Corrie, she’s also a young mum who has come back to work after having a baby and you do lose confidence.

“She’s learning how to juggle it all whilst having a partner who works away.

“I just think that to a certain extent it doesn’t even matter what a few people have to say about her coming back. She’s already got the job, she’s here and everyone on the show is really pleased with her.

“It’s only a very few nasty people saying things and it’s none of their business. I love her to bits. I love all the pink and the glamour she brings on set every day.”

Take that internet trolls!
