Corrie SPOILER: Michelle and Leanne go to war over the Bistro

Working together isn't the best plan

Michelle Connor and Leanne Battersby working together is hardly a recipe for success, is it?

But Robert Preston obviously thinks it’s a good idea as he’s offered Michelle the manager’s job at the Bistro while Leanne’s on maternity leave.

Leanne and Michelle aren’t on good terms following the revelation that Leanne had Steve McDonald’s baby.

Michelle was married to Steve at the time and between him, Leanne, and Leanne’s fiancé, Nick Tilsley, they lied to ‘Chelle for months about who the baby’s father was.

To make matters even worse, Michelle had lost her own baby with Steve at 23 weeks.

Going into meltdown, Michelle kicked her husband out and has gone on a path of revenge. When she tried to seduce Nick, she realised things were getting out of hand and decided to visit her best mate Carla Connor.

Upon her return from holiday, Michelle felt more than a little lost. Steve’s desperate for them to go to counselling, but she just wants to move on – or so it seems.

She threw herself into her wedding planning business, but some ill-advised remarks about Johnny’s cold feet in the run up to his wedding to Jenny has left her without any clients when angry Jenny fired her.

But ever her knight in shining armour, Robert stepped in and offered her the job at the Bistro to give her something to focus on.

Michelle might be happy to be in work and keeping busy, but Leanne’s stunned at the move – and in scenes a bit like recent BBC drama The Replacement, starts to worry about her nemesis stepping into her shoes.

The first day on the job is a good one for Michelle who enjoys her new work – and quite likes flirting with boss Robert too! But when Leanne calls in and clocks their closeness and chemistry, she grows concerned.

She warns Robert to be careful as she thinks Michelle’s just looking for someone on the rebound from Steve.

Even though she’s unsure about the whole thing, Leanne decides to put to rest the bad blood between her and Michelle and heads over to the Bistro to make peace.

But Michelle’s hardly in any mood to accept the olive branch. Is all-out war set to be declared?

Or can they find a way to work together, and live on the same street, to make everyone’s lives easier?
