Coronation Street star Colson Smith has revealed there is a possibility his character Craig Tinker could get together with best friend Bethany Platt.
Would this not be the best soap pairing ever?

Craig has been a rock for Bethany after her ordeal at the hands of Nathan Curtis and his sex ring. He’s even put his job on the line to see the perpetrators of the horrendous crime brought to justice.
Every step of the way, Craig has supported Bethany, and many fans are desperate for the pair to get together.
In an interview with What’s On TV, Colson Smith who portrays the lovable Tinker said it would be “interesting” to see the two become an item.
“[But] obviously she’s been through a lot, and I believe Craig will be there as a friend – get her back onto the track of enjoying her life and being a teenager.
“If romance happens, it happens. But it’d be nice to have more scenes with Lucy Fallon.”
We can see what he means though, it is going to be a long process for Bethany to recover and jumping into any sort of romance, albeit a heartwarming and lovely one, would probably be a mistake.
But sometime, way into the future, maybe there’s hope it’ll happen.
It’s clear how devoted the ginger lad is to her, especially after he risked everything to get corrupt copper Neil Clifton to admit his role in the abuse.
Thanks to Craig getting the confession recorded, the Crime Prosecution Service decided they had enough evidence to charge Neil and ringleader, Nathan, for their treatment of Bethany.
But despite being hero of the moment for the Platt family, it looks like Craig’s actions are about to land him in serious hot water with his dream job.
His covert recording of Neil was actually illegal, and now Craig could actually face the sack, even though he was doing the right thing.
Bethany is heartbroken when she hears about the consequences of the sacrifice Craig made for her, but it’s clear that Craig doesn’t regret his actions. No, siree.

He’s set to face a hearing to find out if he’ll lose his job or not, but Craig makes it clear that he’d do the same thing again if it meant saving his friend.
Whatever happens between the pair of them, they’ve got such a special bond, and we’re so pleased Bethany has someone in her life who’s always on her side.
