Coronation Street stars speak out as filming is dramatically halted

That pesky Doris!

| Updated:

They’re made of hardy stuff up north, but Storm Doris proved too much even for the mighty Mancs – who are well used to a rainy spell!

The Corrie cast and crew were forced to cancel their filming after the adverse weather conditions got too much – props to them for even braving it, we say!

Helen Flanagan, who has recently returned as Rosie Webster and Brooke Vincent, her on-screen sister Sophie, were seen struggling through rehearsals as they battled the elements this morning.

Soon afterwards the girls, swathed in padded red ITV Studios jackets were seen retreating from the harsh weather.

Wind speeds of up to 80mph have been causing havoc in the north of the UK – and a side serving of heavy rain hasn’t been helping matters.

Samia Longchambon, meanwhile, didn’t seem too gutted about the weather putting an end to her filming today, as she got to hang out with her kids instead.

Tweeting, the actress who plays Maria, let slip that she’d been on the cobbles – proof her jailbird character WILL be released pretty soon. Hurrah!

Dolly-Rose Campbell, who plays the kebab shop’s Gemma,

was staying in with a cuppa and tweeted a warning to everyone to follow suit.

Director David Kester shared a shot of the rain-soaked cobbles of Coronation Street – which actually made it look rather beautiful.

Let’s hope Doris gets bored and disappears soon – if we miss our fix of Corrie there will be a real storm brewing!
