Nick Tilsley loves his fiancée Leanne Battersby so much he’s agreed to pretend her baby is his even though it’s Steve McDonald’s.
And how does she repay him? By deciding she won’t put Nick’s name on the birth certificate.
Much like the pregnancy itself, it’s not an easy labour for Leanne whose waters break when she’s stuck in a lift with just sister Toyah for support.
With nurse Rana shouting up instructions to the trapped women, and everyone gathered in the lobby for support, it’s not the dream birth Leanne would have wanted.
But despite the trauma she ends up safely delivering baby Oliver – Olly – into the world and is overwhelmed to meet her new son.
Proud ‘dad’ Nick wants to make things official as soon as possible and books an appointment the next day to register the lad’s birth.
He’s still insecure about Steve being the real dad and he’s desperately trying to bury how he feels by forging ahead with being the best daddy ever.
Leanne is feeling increasingly uncomfortable though. And when she announces Nick’s name isn’t going to be on the birth certificate, Nick flips.
He’s devastated he’s doing so much for her and yet she’s thanking him like this.
Lee tries to explain it just doesn’t feel right when his actual dad is right around the corner, which only serves to ignite Nick’s fears even further.
Does this mean Leanne wants Steve to be a part of their son’s life? Is Nick going to be pushed out?

They’re interrupted by a visit from Michelle, who’s come to visit the new baby.
It’s an awkward moment for the two mothers as Leanne feels dreadful about having Steve’s healthy baby.
Will Michelle’s heartache make Leanne see she needs to put Nick’s name on the certificate to keep the Steve secret safe? Or will it strengthen her resolve?
As the pair leave to go to the appointment, David stops them and tells them they’ll have to go later as Gail’s organised a surprise party at the Bistro to welcome the baby into the world.
