Coronation Street plans huge week of late-night episodes

Those post-BGT slots are going to get dramatic

Coronation Street are planning a massive week of episodes to air after the watershed.

The show will move from its usual early evening airing to a 9pm slot across every night of the week during the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals.

It’s promising to be a major event, unmissable in every aspect.

So what can we expect?

The show are keeping tight-lipped about what’s going to happen – surprise, surprise – but we do know we’ll finally, FINALLY, discover who pushed Ken Barlow down the stairs. Hallelujah!

Currently the only three suspects that remain in the frame are Adam Barlow, Daniel Osbourne, and Sinead Tinker. Ken’s set to recognise a pair of trainers belonging to his attacker, but whose are they?

Will it be one of the three suspects, or is someone else going to be thrown into the mix at the last minute?

Another major drama rumbling on is the exit of Nick Tilsley. We know Ben Price, who plays him, has quit the show and is set to leave very soon. It would make sense for there to be a big exit during this huge week of episodes – is it time for Nick to bid farewell?

At the moment he’s being pretty horrible to fiancée Leanne Batterbsy because he can’t cope with his jealousy towards Steve McDonald being the real dad of baby Oliver.

He also hates Peter Barlow being around and Leanne sticking up for her ex-husband, and is generally not a happy bunny. Will he walk away from Weatherfield after an explosive showdown.

The third story that’s set to be big is the Bethany Platt grooming storyline.

The teen has been being groomed for months by older boyfriend Nathan Curtis, who has forced her into sleeping with his friends.

As the show goes past the watershed, it’s set to air it’s darkest scenes yet in this plot – how much darker can it get?

Will Bethany finally escape? Will the Platts discover exactly what’s been going on? And will they set out to do something about it?

The plot is set to continue into the autumn, but let’s hope what Bethany is going through it discovered well before then.
