The popular clan led by dad, Mick, and mum, Janice, with kids Chantelle and Michael, and nan, Madge Harvey, left during series seven.

They’ve been replaced by the Dawson family, headed up by mum and dad Sheron and Billy and viewers haven’t warmed to the new holidaymakers quite as much.

Taking to Twitter to express how disappointed they were, people called out for the Garveys to return.

“Benidorm just isn’t the same without the garveys” said @beccacummingsx.

And Sharon Gibbs agreed: “Something’s missing on Benidorm the Garveys, Madge, bring them back [sic]”.

Although @GlenAshtonF1 still enjoys the show, he agrees with the ladies:

“Said it before and I’ll say it again #Benidorm is nothing without the Garveys! Still good mind”.

“Really disappointed with Benidorm tonight. The new family certainly isn’t the Garveys #bringthemback” added @frankensynth.

Courtney agreed: “Benidorm isn’t the same without Madge and the Garveys”.

There’s a small chance they might get their wish.

Actor Steve Pemberton, who played Mick, recently told The Sun he wouldn’t be against reprising the popular role one day.

“Every day was fantastic playing Mick Garvey in Benidorm. We had the best nights out as a cast, hitting the karaoke bars.

“I’m tone-deaf, but love feeling like a rock star.

“I left the show, as it’s hard to be out there for three months every year when you have a family, but I’d love to go back at some point.”
