Ant and Dec CONFIRM when SM:TV Live will return

We've got a bit of a wait

Excitement has been building recently as Ant and Dec have been talking about the possibility of a return for Saturday morning kids’ TV classic SM:TV Live.

And now they’ve revealed exactly when the reunion with co-host Cat Deeley is set to happen.

The boys collected a BAFTA award last night for Entertainment Programme for Saturday Night Takeaway, and spoke to the media after their win.

When questioned on what was happening with SM:TV Live, they replied that it was likely to air some time in 2018 to coincide with the show’s 20th anniversary.

Dec revealed to the waiting press: “We’ve had discussions about it, and it looks like it’s going to go ahead – not this September, but next September.”

“Next August/September,” added Ant. “We can’t have the same studios unfortunately but we’re getting the team back together and we’re gonna have a bit of fun!”

They also insisted it would still be on a Saturday morning and joked it would be the earliest wake-up call they’ve had in years.

With segments such as the infamous Wonkey Donkey, Chums, and Challenge Ant, they’ve got a lot of material to revisit.

The duo presented the weekend show alongside Cat Deeley, and the boys have also told how she’s keen to return too.

The last time they were on screen together it was for the most recent finale of Saturday Night Takeaway.

Ant and Dec were hosting live from Disney World in Florida, and one of the highlights of the show was the revelation of Mask Face in the series-long sketch The Missing Crown Jewels.

And it was revealed to be none other than Cat herself!

The Brummie lass then agreed – to the delight of the audience – to appear in their planned one-off 20th anniversary episode of the SM:TV.

We can’t wait. It might be over a year away, but we’re already counting down!
