Adam Thomas leaves Emmerdale for £100k panto role, ITV bosses displeased

The soap star is said to be packing it all in, but you won't believe what for

Adam Thomas reportedly has a new career venture up his sleeve, but Emmerdale bosses aren’t happy about it.

The actor has been dodging exit rumours for a while, but now it’s been revealed that Adam wants to leave the soap for panto.

Yes – panto!

The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star has been offered a whopping £100,000 for a pantomime role and wants to accept, but ITV bosses aren’t as keen.

According to The Sun, bosses at Emmerdale have told him that he can’t have his role as Adam Barton as well as the panto job.

A source said: “The soap community is quite a small one and Adam had heard from stars on other shows that doing a panto run is a great little earner.

“But ITV wasn’t happy with him wanting to do both and said he had to choose.

“Unfortunately for them, he’s decided to go with panto.

“He had some time off in 2016 to take part in I’m A Celeb but it’s not sustainable long-term to keep giving him storylines that explain absences.

“It’s a great payday for him and he’s a popular character on Emmerdale, so the bosses had to let him make his decision in the hope he may come back in the future.”

Back in March, when leaving rumours were rife, the 28-year-old star tweeted: “Don’t believe everything you read, people”.

The Sun writer Andy Halls hit back on Twitter saying: “Don’t believe celebrities either. He’ll be gone by the end of 2017.”

Adam hasn’t commented on the news, but would any celeb turn down a £100,000 pay check?

Oh, no they wouldn’t…
