He said: “My knowledge of dance isn’t the best, so I’m just going to go into it completely open minded.”

Joe also joked of his costumes: “I do feel pretty nervous about it. I just hope they have child sizes as I’m tiny!”

Inspirational campaigner and presenter Katie, 34, was the first to be unveiled on Monday’s BBC Breakfast, where she said it had been hard keeping her appearance a secret!

She said: “I feel so privileged and excited to be part of my favourite show on TV. I already know how much of an amazing experience it will be for me and I can’t wait to show my girls some of my new dance moves!”

Katie is mum to four-year-old daughter Belle and seven-month-old daughter Penelope.

Later that day, on Monday’s edition of The One Show, Steps singer Faye, 42, and actor Danny, 57, were both announced as new contestants.

Faye, who has also enjoyed a successful stage career, said: “I can’t wait to get in the costumes. The swishy skirts and fabulous fringing encrusted with crystals… It’s a big yes from me!”

The star also hit back at the suggestion she’s got an advantage because of her dance background.

“I think you’ll find a few of us have and that’s what makes it an interesting competition. Even though I have some experience I don’t have any ballroom experience and I’m excited to get my teeth into that, dance with a partner, be whisked around the floor.”

Danny, who played Cat in Red Dwarf, added on The One Show that he’s a bit “overwhelmed” by the standard of contestants so far!

The keen motorcyclist added: “Having spent the last few months on two wheels motorcycling around South America in pink leathers, I’m absolutely delighted to be getting back on two feet and into something more comfortable like glittery spandex.”
