I’m A Celeb’s Amir Khan makes another massive blunder in the jungle

He forgot a very important date

| Updated:

Boxing champ Amir Khan has already proved he’s not the brightest spark during his time on I’m A Celebrity.

He’s got smoke and steam confused and pondered if we’ve “ever had a female Prime Minister,” forgetting about both Margaret Thatcher and current leader Theresa May.

Now the Olympian has shown it’s not just general knowledge he fails to retain, he’s also clueless about important moments in his personal life.

On last night’s show as he chatted to Jennie McAlpine, he couldn’t remember the date of his daughter’s birthday.

And when he did narrow it down, he got it completely wrong saying Lamaisah was born “in the summer” in the month of June.

In fact, his daughter is a spring baby who was born in May!

“How old is she, your little girl?” Jennie asked as the pair talked about how much they were missing their kids after nearly three weeks away from home.

“She’s three,” he replied. “She’s turning four in a couple of months… summer.”

“When’s her birthday?” the Corrie actress then asked.

“Summertime,” Amir then said vaguely.

“June,” he added taking a punt about the right month while pulling a confused face.

“I can’t remember my own birthday, man!” he said as Jennie scoffed. “I forget!”

Mum-of-one Jennie later admitted in the Bush Telegraph she couldn’t believe Amir’s memory.

She said: “Amir is sometimes, you know, not quite on the money. He does forget people’s names. And what day it is.”

Thankfully Amir, 30, has remembered his daughter’s birthday when it matters and has tweeted to celebrate it on the correct day in the past – which is in fact 23 May!

Hosts Ant and Dec found Amir’s gaffe hilarious and joked about his confusion over the months of the year.

They mocked up an Amir Khan calendar where June was a couple of months after December as he suggested… and had a lot of Boxing Days!

Meanwhile back in the jungle, Amir received an emotional email written by his wife Faryal, who is currently pregnant with their second child, in which she wrote they were all missing him.

Her loving message showed they have put their recent marriage woes behind them and she added that their daughter is telling everyone “Daddy in jungle” when asked.

So at least her three-year-old memory is better than her father’s!
