Great British Bake Off viewers horrified by how much milk Alan Carr takes in his tea

How do you like yours? Surely not as milky as Alan's?

Alan Carr left Bake Off fans feeling “distraught” last night as he made an extremely milky cup of tea during the last episode of the Channel 4 Stand Up to Cancer series of the show.

Viewers were repulsed by the comedian’s tea-making technique which saw him pour so much milk into the mug it made his brew “anaemic”.

And although Alan’s baking antics in the tent – which included whisking cellophane into his cake mix and producing a sponge that snapped – had the TV audience in stitches, dozens of Twitter users failed to see the funny side of his approach to tea time.

The 41-year-old had a few moments to relax after finishing off his apple and pecan muffins for the Signature Challenge and decided to brew up.

However, as fellow contestants Teri Hatcher, Aisling Bea and Kadeena Cox put the finishing touches to their creations, Alan whipped up a storm on social media by using a “criminal” amount of milk…

And he poured the white stuff in first, too…

On Twitter, the Great British Milk Off debate certainly swung one way:

Some viewers even wondered whether it might be possible to charge Alan with committing a criminal act.
