Gogglebox confirms Tapper family will not be returning to the show

The favourites are missing from the new series...

The Tapper family will NOT be appearing on the current series of Gogglebox, Channel 4 have confirmed.

It will be the first time dad Jonathan and mum Nikki will be absent from the show, alongside their son and daughter Amy and Josh.

The chauffeur and nursery teacher, who live in North London, have been part of the furniture ever since the show first began in 2013.

First, Josh left the show in Series 10 after getting a prestigious apprenticeship at 10 Downing Street.

More recently, Amy signed up to appear as a contestant on Celebs Go Dating.

Now, according to OK! Online, producers of the Channel 4 show have confirmed that the family are “on a break” from their on-screen duties.

A statement said: “The Tappers are currently on a break but have not left the show.”

There’s no word on when they’ll be back, though…

Amy also told the website: “I will most likely not return to the show, I’m going to go traveling so I won’t be on the next couple of series anyway.”

The youngest member of the Tapper family, Amy will be appearing on Celebs Go Dating alongside Olivia Attwood, Ibiza Weekender’s Callum Weekender, Love Island’s Eyal Booker, former Sugababe Mutya Buena, Diversity’s Sam Craske, Made In Chelsea’s Alik Alfus and TOWIE stars Chloe Sims and Vas J Morgan.

The new series of Celebs Go Dating airs in October on E4.

Meanwhile, Googlebox continues on Friday nights at 9pm on C4.
