She wants people to get in touch if they need help

Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas has announced she’s joining This Morning.

The 57-year-old will front a new love-themed segment for the ITV programme next year, where she’ll pair up single men and women in their 50s.

Shirley revealed the news on Wednesday’s This Morning, chatting to hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford from Los Angeles, where she’s currently relaxing ahead of the new Strictly series.

She said: “I’m joining This Morning and on a mission to help you find love! As a woman in my fifties – I know that the idea of dating later in life can be scary. But that’s where I can help!

“If you feel that love has left you marooned on an island of loneliness, get in touch and take part.

“I do believe it will happen. I don’t know when or where, but I would love to be in love again,” she said. “I know my mum would like to see me with someone who looks out for me and treats me with kindness and respect.”

Shirley’s getting ready for her second series as head judge of Strictly.

The BBC One dance competition kicks off this autumn with a new batch of famous faces battling it out to win the mirrorball trophy.

Once again, she’ll join Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell on the judging panel.

Shirley took over from Len Goodman as head judge last year, after he quit the show.
