Loose Women’s Janet Street-Porter wants everyone to know about her toilet schedule

Viewers were disgusted by the news about presenter's bowels

| Updated:

To the delight of very few, Loose Women’s Janet Street-Porter has revealed her bowel movements are back on track.

The presenter was given a round of applause as she informed the studio audience and her fellow panelists a recent bout of constipation had passed.

Viewers at home, however, were not as impressed – with one tweeting the show had plumbed new depths and “sunk lower than ever”.

With host Andrea McLean promising a big announcement from the former newspaper editor, 71-year-old Janet grinned as she shared her poop scoop.

She said: “I can now exclusively reveal – well, not that exclusively because I’ve told everyone I’ve seen – there has been movement.”

Clarifying, a giggling Andrea added: “A movement of the bowel kind, for those of you who don’t know what Janet’s talking about.”

Fellow panelist Stacey Solomon congratulated Janet, saying: “Oh that’s wonderful.”

A relieved Janet said she had become backed up over the last few weeks due to painkilling medication she’d needed after having a knee replacement operation.

She also said she had taken four laxatives after visiting a restaurant and “couldn’t leave the house” the next morning.

Asked by Stacey how long she had been constipated for, Janet replied: “Let’s just say a small part of bread was living up in my body.”

Viewers were not quite as riveted by Janet’s update, with many tweeting their displeasure at the chat.

At least one viewer was tickled by the latest on Janet’s bowels, however – and it didn’t even put him off his breakfast.
