You can always trust Piers Morgan to say the most embarrassing thing – and on Monday’s episode of Good Morning Britain he made his cheekiest joke yet.
After a morning spent teasing Susanna Reid about her new relationship with Crystal Palace Football Club chairman Steve Parish, the TV star suggested maybe the relationship was linked to her recent weight loss.
During a segment on vegan diets, the presenter turned to Susanna and said: “How much have you lost? 23lbs? She’s lost 23lbs on the Crystal Palace diet…”
In another outrageous moment, he said that Crystal Palace’s football team had been “terrible” on the pitch the day before, adding outrageously: “You’ve been scoring more than that.”
Piers fell about laughing, before adding: “Sorry! Sorry!”
Susanna knew what she was in for the night before, when Piers posted a picture of The Sun on Sunday to Instagram, with the front page declaring: “New love for TV Susanna.”
Piers wrote: “Looking forward to the @gmb paper review tomorrow morning… 😂😂.”
Susanna, 47, has reportedly been dating Steve, 53, for two months, after meeting this summer. They were spotted watching musical Hamilton last month, and went public this weekend at a Crystal Palace match.
A source told The Sun: “Susanna and Steve are exclusively dating. It’s extremely early days but they’re having a lot of fun. They have known each other for several years through their connections to Palace.
“Over the summer they started hanging out more and fell for each other. They have a real chemistry, a wicked sense of humour and both are real family people. Plus, of course, they share a love of the Eagles.”

Piers refused to stop teasing his co-star about her new romance on Monday’s show.
As the show began, he told viewers: “So many interesting things I had to catch up on,” as he held up the newspaper.
“Here we go, here we go,” the mum-of-three replied.
The former journalist explained: “Susanna came into my dressing room this morning clutching this, which is a very nice bottle of champagne.
“It turns out it was a bribe, she was literally bribing me to not be too mean to her.”
It definitely didn’t work.
