ITV shares exciting GMB update with Piers and Susanna

They're ready for autumn kick-off

Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid have celebrated Good Morning Britain never being called “boring” as they prepare to return to the show.

The duo, who have been on a summer break, appear in a new trailer for the ITV morning programme, in which they confess to being called “argumentative, unfair, opinionated, cocky and annoying”.

Walking through a futuristic setting, Morgan adds: “But you know what we’ve never been called? Boring.”

Piers and Susanna will return to the show on Monday September 3 at 6am, ITV said.

In recent weeks, they have been replaced by guest presenters including Kate Garraway, Jeremy Kyle, Charlotte Hawkins and Adil Ray.

Good Morning Britain’s editor Neil Thompson said: “We are looking forward to having Piers and Susanna back for autumn with some big exclusives and agenda setting news for our viewers.

As the trailer says: “The news doesn’t have to be black and white’ – watch GMB if you want it in full colour.”

Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are getting excited about their return to This Morning.

The pair are set to return to This Morning next week after both enjoying a relaxing summer holiday with their families.

Alongside the cute photograph, 37-year-old Holly joked that her return to the ITV show with her good friend will be like going back to school.

She wrote: “Back to school on Monday!!!! Can’t wait to be reunited with the silver fox on the sofa…

“See you and @schofe on @thismorning Monday!”

Phillip, 56, added on his page: “We’re back on Monday!! 😊😊 @thismorning #reunited.”

Throughout the summer, a host of faces have stood in for Holly and Phil.

For the majority of the shows, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have presented This Morning in their absence.

Other guest presenters have included Mollie King and Matt Edmondson.

But while they have all gone down well, viewers are excited for the This Morning stalwarts to return to their screens.

Following Holly and Phil’s announcements, one commented: “Love Phillip and Holly cant wait to see them back every morning xxx.”

Another added: “Missed you guys!”

A third even joked: “Horrendously unfair for us teachers that you never present in the holidays!”

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Holly also confirmed that she will be flying to Australia later this year to co-host I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! with Declan Donnelly.

Following much speculation, Holly revealed that she will be standing in for Ant McPartlin following his decision to break from TV commitments for a year.

The Geordie’s decision to step back from the spotlight comes after his drink-driving arrest earlier this year.

In a statement announcing her new job, Holly said: “I couldn’t be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure.

“I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery.

“These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit…

“Honestly, I’m a huge fan of ‘I’m A Celebrity and actually feel like I’ve won a competition to go and hang out on my favourite show!”

Dec admitted it will be “a different kind of series” but added: “I am hugely grateful to Holly for agreeing to accompany me to Australia this year.

“She was at the top of my list and I’m thrilled she said yes.”
