Viewers in hysterics as VERY strange noises interrupt BBC Breakfast bulletin

How did the reporter keep a straight face?

As we all know, there’s nothing remotely sexy about politics. But that’s not the way it seemed during a segment on BBC Breakfast this morning.

Reporter Emma Vardy was relaying the latest Brexit news from outside the Houses of Parliament when the broadcast was interrupted by what could best be described as ‘sex noises’.

At the time, it wasn’t clear where the climactic female moaning was coming from – it sounded like someone had accidentally spliced the footage with an adult-movie soundtrack. But Emma managed to continue with her spiel without flinching.

And viewers at home thought the whole incident was most amusing, taking to Twitter to voice their approval.

One person wrote: “Erm, the background noise during that last interview at the Houses of Parliament! What the heck, BBC!”

A second quipped: “Another MP caught at it again?”

And a third praised Emma’s professionalism, saying: “She did well not to laugh!”

Following the incident, BBC bosses attempted to deflect criticism by suggesting that the noises were innocent.

On the official BBC Breakfast Twitter feed, they claimed: “Someone nearby was playing music whilst we were live! So that’s what you could hear.”

But as it turned out, they were wrong – and the sounds WERE as rude as everyone had thought.

It turned out that it had been a stunt carried out by prank outfit TrollStation.

The group later posted a video to Facebook that showed them setting up an amplifier just across the road from where Emma and the BBC crew were standing.

They then boomed out the X-rated soundtrack in the hope that the cameras would pick up the noises – which, of course, they did.

There’s been rather a lot of saucy content on breakfast TV recently. Not so long ago, This Morning viewers were left cringing after Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford pulled sex faces at each other live on air.

And then earlier this week, Good Morning Britain interviewed a sperm donor, causing some to choke on their Weetabix (probably).

Sometimes, we wish we’d just stayed in bed.
